Study In Style

Who says you have to look like a lad of the evening who occasionally enjoys all the merits of smack when you're cramming for finals? Sure, it's easy to slouch around in cornflake-stained, Tippex-bedazzled boxers. But I promise you'll be able to concentrate better when you style yourself a little! This outfit, exempli gratia, will add a little jolt of energy to your study routine without losing any of that highly coveted comfort. No more feeling like you should be queueing at a needle exchange instead of memorizing all the members of the Plantagenet dynasty!
Bonne chance!

Amen † Fashion

Sitting here, totez depressed due to the exam period and the different kinds of deprivation that entails, I don't feel like thinking up any prose. So I collected a bunch of nifty get-ups and poured them in a post!  I can not get enough of the subtle vibrancy and sumptuousness of these colourful (yet pastel-y) clothes. Just a simple, old-fashioned eff-load of pretty to cheer me up. The divine power of F@$hüN
Dive in!
Btw,can I study with a margarita, pliz?
Wow, I just totally wrote down all my thoughts with no coherency whatsoever.

Walking The Line

I am a huge fan of all things Phillip Lim, so I just had to share this with you in case you hadn't seen it already! Immaculate outfits + a poignant soundtrack + a razorsharp architectural backdrop = le chic³.
What do you guys think?

The Boat

Sunday May 22nd, 7 a.m.
My pace slows down as I approach the lakefront. The dawn runs a chilly yet not unpleasant quiver down my spine. My mouth sags incredulously as I face the water.
"I didn't think you were for real!"
"Well, I did text you: 'Get dressed, loser, we're going rowing on the lake'."
"Yes, that is pretty straight forward."
"Are you getting in or what?"
"Are you planning on strangling me with a piece of your sister's weave and dumping me in the middle of the lake?"
"Yeah, sure, babe. That's what the picnic basket and champagne is for."
I grin slyly as I clamber clumsily onto the little vessel.
"Oh, have pity on this feeble wench, Cap'n! I shall scrub your deck for a mere thruppence! I've got the scurvy you see, kind sir!" I exclaim enthusiastically.
"Very sexy."

When your head is spinning every which way but the one you should be facing, it's good to sit down. Just sit down, make yourself a piping hot cup of chai in one of those twee English rose teacups and feast your eyes on the following!

The Hots For Cold Method

This week I pranced all the way to Antwerp to discover the new Cold Method A/W11 collection. Cold Method is a young brand from the Netherlands that focuses solely on menswear. I was excited to meet the brand's head designer, Dieter De Cock, who was born and raised in my own small community! I managed to get lost - again - but made it just in time. Immediately I fell in love with what I saw: menswear basics but with a young and quirky twist. The collection contains quite a muted colour palette but with pops of midnight blue and red, as the designer told me he was inspired by the Doctor Zhivago story and winter night landscapes. It's all in the details: contrast stitching and drawings in the lining, asymmetrical pocket placement and drop crotch tuxedo trousers. I had a lovely time chatting with monsieur De Cock, who is a big inspiration to me: we both come from the same little town and after working for Viktor&Rolf and Stephan Schneider he is now head designer of this great label. It's possible to go far, even if you're from a fly speck on the map and that's a very reassuring thought!
